Just got back from biking across California! I joined my sister and her husband for the first state in their trek across the country on bikes! Here we are at the start of it all on Ocean Beach in San Francisco, CA. It was an amazing adventure--fun, exhilarating, and challenging. I wish I could join them for the rest of their ride. They'll be blogging and photographing their way across the country—follow them at www.sethandmel.wordpress.com.

My new letterpress print for the Arizona Bill 1070 Print Exchange.
My print is made up of linoleum block carvings of transposed outlines of the United States and Mexico. In my map, the two are separated by a large blank space. Yellow lines, printed with a collagraph, mirror the yearly migration paths of monarch butterflies between the northern United States and Mexico. Gridlines—like those on a map—were created using type. The text is taken from excerpts on monarch migration and human immigration.
